About our Ensembles
At Moses Middle School, we offer a variety of musical opportunities to our students. Students perform concerts for the community, travel to other schools in Paulding County, travel out of state, perform high-level repertoire, and learn to love music through band.
Why is band important in middle school?
Music education provides children with an outlet. Music teaches children to communicate, love, and learn, and is the universal language that ties us all together. Through music, your child will discover their determination to succeed, they'll build a community of friends, and they will begin to build a skill that they can keep their entire lives.

7th Grade Intermediate Band
In our students' second year of band, they dig deeper into individual preparation and ensemble performance. Students prepare five concerts and perform for judging panels at Large Group Performance Evaluations. All band instruments are available through instrument expansions in 6th grade. Students also have the opportunity to travel out of state for performance opportunities beginning in the seventh grade.
8th Grade Advanced Band
The 8th Grade Advanced Band is the premiere ensemble at Moses Middle School. Students prepare chamber ensemble performances, solo performances, and advanced ensemble performances in class and during NBI. The Advanced Band prepares five concerts and performs for judging panels at Large Group Performance Evaluations. 8th grade students have the opportunity to get involved in their high school's band program through 8th Grade Night, recruitment field trips, and much more!
Percussion Ensemble
The Moses Titan Percussion Ensemble has two divisions, the bucket ensemble and the concert percussion ensemble.
The bucket ensemble is open to all students regardless of instrument; students grades 6-8 can participate. We travel every year to our feeder elementary schools to perform and recruit.
The concert percussion ensemble is comprised of advanced students in grades 6-8. Concert percussion ensemble is primarily composed of percussionists, though non-percussionists may also participate. Membership in concert percussion ensemble is nomination-based.
